In 2024, Sajecki Planning Inc. was retained by Forest Glen Shopping Centre Ltd., in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary consultant team to secure municipal approvals for THE redevelopment of Fieldgate Plaza in the City of Mississauga. The redevelopment of the 1.6 hectare site represents an opportunity to re-imagine and urbanize the existing retail plaza by introducing new residential, commercial and community uses.

The site is located on the northeast corner of Fieldgate Drive and Ponytrail Drive, steps from the Bloor Street corridor. The project consists of three towers with heights of 13, 18 and 22 storeys. In addition, commercial and retail uses are proposed at the ground level, along with a new public park. The proposal provides for over 46,000 square meters (495,000 square feet) of combined residential and commercial space, and approximately 592 new residential units.

The development requires an Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment. Sajecki Planning oversaw the preparation and submission of the development applications, which were filed in December 2024 and are currently under review. The project involved early engagement with municipal staff, the local Councillor, area residents, and the Dixie Bloor Neighbourhood Centre to ensure that various interests, priorities and design considerations were integrated into the development proposal.
